Cookies

Our websites use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small data packages and do not cause any damage to your end device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your end device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.

Cookies can come from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies can be used to analyze user behavior or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g., for the shopping cart function), or to optimize the website (e.g., cookies for measuring web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies was requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. When deactivating cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.

You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.

This website uses the consent technology from Usercentrics to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies on your end device or to the use of specific technologies and to document this in a data protection-compliant manner. The provider of this technology is Usercentrics GmbH, Sendlinger Straße 7, 80331 Munich, Germany, website: https://usercentrics.com/ (hereinafter "Usercentrics").

Furthermore, Usercentrics stores a cookie in your browser to be able to assign the consents you have given or their revocation to you. The data collected in this way is stored until you request us to delete it, delete the Usercentrics cookie yourself, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory legal retention obligations remain unaffected.

Usercentrics is used to obtain the legally required consents for the use of certain technologies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.

Data Processing Agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with Usercentrics. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that Usercentrics only processes the personal data of our website visitors according to our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The collection of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this purpose, server log files must be recorded.

Contact Form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of inquiries sent to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this was requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you entered in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

If you contact us by email, phone, or fax, your inquiry including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. 6. Analysis Tools and Advertising

Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Tag Manager is a tool with which we can integrate tracking or statistical tools and other technologies on our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies, and does not carry out independent analyses. It only manages and controls the tools integrated via it. However, Google Tag Manager collects your IP address, which can also be transmitted to Google's parent company in the United States.

The use of Google Tag Manager is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in quick and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on its website. If consent was requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's end device (e.g., device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyze the behavior of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of stay, operating systems used, and origin of the user. This data may be aggregated by Google in a profile that is assigned to the respective user or their end device.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable user recognition for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The website usage information collected by Google is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this service is based on your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

The company is certified under the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Every company certified under the DPF commits to complying with these data protection standards. Further information can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/participant-search/participant-detail?contact=true&id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. This means that your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

You can find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

We have concluded a contract data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

7. Newsletter

Newsletter Data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The processing of the data entered into the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke the consent you have given to the storage of data, the email address, and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example, via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you deposited with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter or the newsletter service provider and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or after the purpose ceases to apply. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not time-limited. You can object to storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

8. Plugins and Tools

YouTube with Extended Privacy Protection

This website embeds videos from YouTube. The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

We use YouTube in extended privacy protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the transmission of data to YouTube partners is not necessarily excluded by the extended privacy protection mode. For example, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network regardless of whether you watch a video or not.

As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection to YouTube's servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, YouTube can save various cookies on your end device after starting a video or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g., device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can receive information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve user-friendliness, and prevent fraud attempts.

If necessary, further data processing operations may be triggered after starting a YouTube video, over which we have no control.

YouTube is used in the interest of appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

You can find more information about data protection at YouTube in their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

Google Fonts (Local Hosting)

This site uses so-called Google Fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. Google Fonts are installed locally. There is no connection to Google servers.

You can find more information about Google Fonts at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

9. Online Marketing and Partner Programs

Affiliate Programs on This Website

We participate in affiliate partner programs. In the case of affiliate partnerships, advertisements from companies are placed on websites of other companies of the affiliate partner network. When you click on one of these affiliate advertisements, you will be forwarded to the advertised offer. If you subsequently carry out a certain transaction (conversion), we will receive a commission for this. To calculate this commission, it is necessary for the affiliate network operator to be able to track that you came to the advertised offer via an advertisement on our website and carried out the predetermined transaction. For this purpose, the affiliate network operator uses cookies or comparable recognition technologies (e.g., device fingerprinting).

The storage of data and its analysis is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the correct calculation of its affiliate commission.

We participate in the following affiliate partner programs:

Amazon Affiliate Program

The provider of the program is Amazon Europe Core S.à.r.l. You can find information on Amazon's data protection practices at: https://www.amazon.de/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201909010.

10. Online-Based Audio and Video Conferences (Conference Tools)

Data Processing

We use online conference tools, among other things, for communication with our customers. The tools we use are listed in detail below. If you communicate with us by video or audio conference using the Internet, your personal data will be collected and processed by us and the provider of the respective conference tool. The conference tools collect all information that you provide/access to use the tools (email address and/or your phone number). Furthermore, the conference tools process the duration of the conference, start and end (time) of participation in the conference, number of participants and other "context information" related to the communication process (metadata).

Furthermore, the provider of the tool processes all technical data necessary for the processing of the online communication. This includes in particular IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or speaker and the type of connection.

If content is exchanged, uploaded, or otherwise made available within the tool, it is also stored on the servers of the tool provider. Such content includes, in particular, cloud recordings, chat/instant messages, voicemail uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboards, and other information shared while using the service.

Please note that we do not have complete influence on the data processing operations of the tools used. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider. Further information on data processing by the conference tools can be found in the data protection declarations of the tools used, which we have listed below this text.

Purpose and Legal Bases

The conference tools are used to communicate with prospective or existing contractual partners or to offer certain services to our customers (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Furthermore, the use of the tools serves the general simplification and acceleration of communication with us or our company (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Insofar as consent was requested, the tools in question are used on the basis of this consent; the consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

Storage Duration

Data collected directly by us via the video and conference tools will be deleted from our systems immediately after you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory legal retention periods remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage duration of your data that is stored by the operators of the conference tools for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the conference tools directly.

Conference Tools Used

We use the following conference tools:

Zoom

We use Zoom. The provider is Zoom Communications Inc., San Jose, 55 Almaden Boulevard, 6th Floor, San Jose, CA 95113, USA. For details on data processing, please refer to Zoom's privacy policy: https://zoom.us/en-us/privacy.html.

The company is certified under the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Every company certified under the DPF commits to complying with these data protection standards. Further information can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/participant-search/participant-detail?contact=true&id=a2zt00000008UD1AAM&status=Active.

Data Processing Agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that this service only processes the personal data of our website visitors according to our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

11. Custom Services

Application Management

We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., by email, by post, or via an online application form). In the following, we will inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected within the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions, and that your data will be treated strictly confidentially.

Scope and Purpose of Data Collection

If you submit an application to us, we will process your associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during job interviews, etc.), insofar as this is necessary for the decision on establishing an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG according to German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (general contract initiation) and – if you have given consent – Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Your personal data will only be passed on within our company to persons involved in the processing of your application.

If the application is successful, the data you submitted will be stored on the basis of § 26 BDSG and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR in our data processing systems for the purpose of implementing the employment relationship.

Retention Period of Your Data

If we cannot make you a job offer or you reject a job offer or withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application procedure (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data is then deleted, and the physical application documents are destroyed. The storage serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is evident that the data will be required after the expiry of the 6-month period (e.g., due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for further storage no longer applies.

Longer storage can also take place if you have given your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or if statutory data retention requirements preclude deletion.

Data Protection and Security

Writesonic states in its privacy policy that appropriate technical and organizational measures are taken to protect personal data. However, we would like to point out that data processing in the USA may be subject to different data protection standards than in the EU.
